Skin cancer cases increase faster than forecast
Tuesday 03 April 2012
Last year some 40,000 people in the Netherlands were diagnosed with some form of skin cancer, meaning the number of cases is rising faster than expected, the KWF cancer research charity said on Tuesday.
This means there will be some 70,000 cases a year by 2020, KWF said.
On Monday, American researchers said the number of cases of skin cancer in women under the age of 40 had gone up eight-fold because of the popularity of sunbeds and artificial tanning.
