Bill Clinton endorsed Mitt Romney for President yesterday!
Former President Bill Clinton believes Republican Mitt Romney would be an excellent President and yesterday shocked Democrats across the country when he endorsed the former Massachusetts Governor for President.
Clinton feels that Romney?s business success and political background makes him more qualified for the White House, than Barack Obama.
?There is no question that in terms of getting up and going to the office and basically performing the essential functions of the office, a man who has been governor and had a sterling business career crosses the qualification threshold,? Clinton said of Romney in an interview with CNN on Thursday.
Many inside the Beltway are speculating that Bill Clinton endorsed Romney, so that Hillary can prepare for her run for President in 2016. ??Hillary will be President,? ?Clinton reportedly told a source close to CNN.
Romney clinched the Republican nomination this week with a primary win in Texas although the race has been over for weeks as his remaining party rivals had suspended their campaigns.
Clinton ?said demonizing private equity politically as Democrats have done to Romney was wrong and that when he is on the campaign trail with Mitt Romney, he will push back hard on that belief.
?When you try, like anything else you try, you don?t always succeed,? Clinton said. ?I don?t think that we ought to get into the position where we say this is bad work. This is good work.?
Clinton has reportedly agreed to speak at the Republican National Convention in Tampa Bay this August and has agreed to join Romney on the campaign trail in the fall.
